Welcome message:

My name is Nicolai Orsteen and I am a registered specialist in endodontics in both the UK and my home country of Norway. I have worked as a specialist for more than seven years, and my practice is solely limited to root canal treatments. In my opinion, you need to practice tirelessly to be an expert in your field, and I have completed more than 10,000 hours of root canal treatment.

Amongst other places, I have worked in a specialist endodontic practice in Harley Street. I eventually set up the Root Canal Dental Referral Centre to offer patients in and around Richmond high quality specialist root canal treatment at a reasonable price.

What to expect when you see me:

I will first have a chat with you so you can express in your own words why you have come to see me. Then I will do an examination and take a radiograph. In most cases, I will then have a clear diagnosis to give you. We will then go over the treatment options, including what the treatment involves, aftercare, prognosis and costs. It is then up to you to decide which treatment option you prefer. I will always be honest about which treatment I feel will provide the best outcome for you.

If you choose root canal treatment, I will do my utmost to give you a pain-free and comfortable experience. I will of course make sure that the tooth is completely numb before I start drilling. During the procedure, I want you to know that you are still in control and, if you need a break, you can tell me. The treatment usually takes between 60-75 minutes.

One of the greatest rewards of specialising in root canal treatments is that, at the end of the appointment, the patient tells me that I kept my promise that it would not hurt. A pain-free root canal, and the fact that we get our patients out of pain, makes being a root canal specialist extremely rewarding.
